Halloween

The girls had a great Halloween this year! It was quite the busy day, though! We started the morning with Lucca's last soccer game of the season. Grammie, Nana Pam, Grandpa, Lita, and Lito were all there to cheer the Mavericks to victory! After the game, we had about an hour of downtime before we headed over to Round Table for the end-of-the-season team pizza party. From there, we went home and got Lucca into her costume. Lucca dressed up as a sugar plum fairy this year, which was great because she decided she wanted to wear her ballerina outfit from her last recital. I always love it when we can reuse those things! :) She added a pair of wings from her dress up box and voila! She was a beautiful sugar plum fairy! Siena was a pumpkin, but only in the morning and at night. During the day, the costume was too hot, so she just wore her Halloween onesie.

We made our way downtown for the annual Treat Street. We have gone for the last 3 years and it is always crowded but nothing like this year! There were so many people there! The line to check in wrapped all the way around an entire city block. We quickly decided to bypass the line and just trick or treat without checking in. We figured most store owners wouldn't turn down candy to a little girl! Luckily, it worked and we saved about 45 minutes of waiting in line (and prevented a grumpy Daddy!). Once we had exhausted all of the downtown businesses, we went back home and met up with Grammie. Grammie, Lucca, Siena, and I went to the Chico Mall to do some more tick or treating. Thank goodness the mall wasn't nearly as crowded as downtown had been! We left right around the time it got dark and then I took the girls trick or treating around the neighborhood for about an hour while Gabe handed out candy to the trick or treaters at our house. We ended up getting a lot of trick or treaters. In fact, after we ran out of the candy we had bought we started going through Lucca's stash and picking out the candy she didn't like to hand out! Lucca had a blast passing out the candy at home! Both girls ended up falling right to sleep! It was a wonderful day!
