Happy 1st Birthday Siena!

It is so hard for me to believe that Siena is already one year old! How is it possible that a year has gone by since she came into our lives? It is amazing how quickly life passes by once you become an adult and I really feel like it speeds up even more once you have children. I am so excited to watch them grow, yet at times I just want to press the pause button because it is going so fast!
Siena
had a great first birthday! I took the day off from work to spend the day with her, Gabe, and Lucca. We dropped Lucca off at school in the morning, then Gabe and I took Siena for a jog in the park. It was a beautiful spring day and so nice to be in the park. After that we went to the Naked Lounge and had cappuccinos and scones. Siena is a huge scone fan so it was a perfect birthday breakfast for her. Later in the day, when Lucca got home from school, we went to Home Depot and got a bunch of flowers to plant in the yard. We opened presents (which was more fun for Lucca than Siena!) and had Raw Bar for dinner (yum!). Then the moment we have been waiting for all year arrived! Lito and Lita came over to witness Siena's first experience with chocolate cake! We got her a chocolate fudge cake from Upper Crust so it was definitely top shelf! She LOVED it! It was so fun watching her shove the cake into her little mouth and brought back memories of Lucca from almost 5 year ago!We had Siena's birthday party on Saturday. Luckily, it was another beautiful spring day! We had a cupcake theme for the party and Siena wore her Little Cupcake shirt! Nana Pam made her a personal chocolate cake in the shape of a cupcake and we made cupcakes for the guests. Once again, Siena got the pleasure of digging in to her cake! This time we were a little wiser and took her high chair outside so it wouldn't be so hard to clean up! She had a great time visiting with her family, eating cake, and playing in her new Princess Car that Grandpa Bruce and Grandma Lissa gave her. It has cup holders in the back and we couldn't resist sticking 2 beers in and getting a picture of her!Lucca had a blast helping Siena open her presents. Lucca certainly made up for Siena's short attention span! In fact, later that night after Siena had gone to sleep Lucca spent hours playing with all of Siena's new presents. It's so funny how baby toys can still be so entertaining to a 5-year old!
We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends and family! Thank you to everyone who helped make Siena's birthday so special!
