April has been a wonderful month! We are so excited that the weather is getting warmer and that there are more hours of daylight. The girls have been having a blast playing outside! Siena got a sand and water table for her birthday that both girls love to play with, however, Siena hasn't quite gotten the concept that the sand is to play in, not to eat!

Lucca also loves to push Siena around the patio in her new car and play with Siena in various places, including this fun box!

It has been so nice to enjoy the outdoors after months of cold weather!Swim lessons are going well. Siena has adapted to her lessons and is doing much better. Now she only cries for the first minute and then seems to enjoy herself. We are so impressed with her ability to float on her back. It doesn't bother her at all! It took Lucca awhile to float on her back without hesitation. Lucca is mastering the backstroke and just began to learn the breast stroke. The girls will continue with swim lessons through May and then we will take the summer off and just practice at the Sports Club since we have so many out of town trips planned in the summer.
Siena is now 13 months! We just turned her around in her car seat last week and she seems to love it! She apparently thinks she is part dog, because her favorite thing to do is retrieve things and carry them around in her mouth. She loves to go into her room and grab wipes and walk around with them in her mouth. She also loves to "help" with the laundry. Every time I am doing laundry she crawls into the laundry room and pulls herself up to the dryer and helps take out the clothes.

Siena is SO close to taking her first steps. She is scooting around on everything and can stand on her own. There have been so many times in the last week where we think she is about to take a step, then she just plops down and starts crawling! I definitely think it will happen in the next month. She is also becoming so much more vocal. Her official first word is "cat," and we think she has said "Lucca" and "duck." Not to mention " da-da" and "ma-ma" of course. She is certainly a little talker. It is so cute to listen to her communicate in her own little language.
Lucca is enjoying the last two months of kindergarten. She is an amazing reader! She can now pretty much read anything that she sees, which is incredible for a kindergartner. It is so hard for me to believe that my baby is going to be in first grade in just 4 months! Where did the time go?? Here is our little reader at work...

We have been enjoying play dates with our friends this month, too! We got to play with Adi, Holden, Dominic and Brayden last weekend. Lucca and Adi had a blast playing dress up and performing a musical for us, while the babies had fun interacting with each other.

Our friends Laura and John came to visit from Nevada City and Lucca was thrilled to play with their little girl Helena again! They had a blast playing in Siena's crib and harassing the poor cats!

We have also been having fun playing with Meghann and Nathan! Lucca loves to play with Nathan, even though he is quite a bit younger than her (he is 2). She loves that he can talk, and I am sure she loves the fact that she is "the boss" since she is older. Nathan seems to enjoy both Lucca and Siena. He loves to feed Siena Jon and Bons! After a recent trip, Siena is now an addict like the rest of us. She LOVES frozen yogurt!

Hmm...can you tell who got sand thrown in their eye? Can you tell who enjoyed it? :)
