June
Our summer vacation is off to a great start! Lucca has been out of school the whole month of June, but I didn't get out until June 11th. On the night of my last day of school, Lucca and I had a camp out in our backyard. We had pizza for dinner on a blanket on the lawn, roasted marshmallows on the BBQ and made Smores, and slept in Lucca's princess tent. It was lots of fun and we will surely be doing it again this summer!
Lucca has had a blast going to birthday parties, swimming, and having play dates. Here are some pictures of Lucca and her best friend, Emma.

Lucca and Rilyn have been having fun playing together now that the Harris's are back in town. They enjoy playing beauty shop, with their favorite customer, Erika!

Lucca also had Camp Chi Da Ca the week of June 14th, and she loved it! At the end of the week they had a little performance for family and sang all of the songs that they had learned in camp.

Another fun thing we did was go to Patrick's Ranch in Durham. They had a fun, old-fashioned celebration with food, booths, and activities. We got to tour the inside of the Victorian Era home, and Lucca got to wash clothes the old-fashioned way, complete with scraping her own dishsoap then hanging them out to dry! She also got to make a biscuit and bake it in the clay oven.
Siena has also had a play date this summer! Kimberly took Rilyn and Lucca to the Kids Clubhouse summer movie while I watched Siena and Emerson. Siena didn't seem to mind another toddler in her territory! I am so glad the Harris's have moved back to Chico so we can have LOTS more play dates!!
Siena is a full fledged walked now, which also means that she takes falls now and then. I have now realized the importance of properly fitting shoes, as on of her most recent falls was the result of me trying to cram her little feet one last time into a pair of adorable, yet too small, sandals! She took a few steps on the pavement at Camp Chi Da Ca and tripped, scratching her upper lip and nose. Luckily, kids heal amazingly quickly and the mark disappeared in a matter of days.
