Santa Cruz

We took a trip to Santa Cruz at the end of June to visit Jenny, Paul, Ella, and Nicholas. We were thrilled to escape the triple digit temperature in Chico and enjoy cooler weather. Gabe and I got in some great beach runs! We had a blast going to the Boardwalk (where Lucca went on the Pirate Ship for the first time and was terrified!), playing at the beach, and visiting. It has been so much fun watching the cousins grow up together.The last time we went to the boardwalk together was two years ago, and I couldn't resist posting these two pictures of Lucca, Ella, and Nicholas on the boat ride two years apart!
The girls both have a Nintendo DS and they were very excited to discover that they could send text messages back and forth. They spent HOURS texting, all from the same room! Nicholas joined in the video game frenzy with his Leapster. Here is a common sight that we would see as we passed Ella's room...We also got to see GiGi and Grandpa Don while we were visiting. We had a delicious appetizers with them at the Crow's Nest! Yummy!Siena LOVES the beach! The only problem is that she thinks that she is ready to swim in the ocean and I disagree. She would get so mad when I would intercept her attempts to run full throttle out in to the surf! Maybe next year...
