Lucca's New Pierced Ears

Today Lucca got her ears pierced! We have been telling her she could get them pierced for kindergarten and she had been a little scared because she heard that it hurt. So today she decided that she was going to be brave and take the plunge! We went to 3 different places before we finally found a place that could do it. I kept thinking that her bravery would fade and she would change her mind but she didn't! And boy, was she brave! I was probably more scared than she was! She sat on my lap and I totally thought she would panic once the first ear was pierced and not want to get the second one pierced. All she said when the first one was pierced was, "mommy!" in a happy voice and then the second one was pierced and voila! Pierced ears! No tears, no fears! She is so proud of her new earrings that she picked out! Of course, of all the earrings to choose from she chose the most expensive pair, but they are 14 kt. gold so I figured they would be good and have a low risk for infection! She is already very good about cleaning them, in fact she wants to do it all the time! We are so proud and excited for her! She is such a big girl now!
