One Month Old

Wow! I can hardly believe that a month has already passed since Siena came into our lives! It has literally flown by! She is growing so fast! At her 2 week appointment she weighed 8 lbs. 3 oz. and I am guessing she weighs almost 10 lbs by now. She seems much longer than she was at birth and definitely less like a newborn and more like a baby. She has treated us to a few smiles but it is hard to tell if they are genuine or gas smiles! I am sure we will be able to tell the difference very soon! She is so much stronger now, too, and is beginning to hold up her head on her own. We are having so much fun with her and just enjoying this stage so much! Here is our little princess in her favorite sleeping position-arms straight above her head!

Lucca is still enjoying being a big sister and continues to be a big help to me. She loves her "sissy" and loves to help change her diaper, give her a bath, and pick out her clothes. Some of you may know that Lucca has recently decided that she dislikes buttons and she is trying to share this feeling with Siena. She protests when I dress Siena in clothes with buttons, which I think is pretty funny. Lucca treats Siena like one of her own little dolls, which I am sure you can tell by the picture below. Can you guess which one is the real baby?

This past week, Myriah and Matias were in town for a visit and to celebrate his first birthday. We had a great time hanging out with them and enjoying Matias's new adventures in walking and biting! Yes, he has discovered that both his feet and his teeth can be useful, which Lucca had a hard time adjusting to at first. The last time we saw him he was 8 months old and still more like a baby than a toddler so I think it surprised her at first to see him upright, mobile, and shark-like! The first visit with him was an adjustment and she told me she wished that he would go back to his original size! :) Once we were able to arm her with some strategies to protect her from his love bites she really enjoyed playing with her little cousin! She already misses both him and Myriah and we all can't wait to see them again in June!

I can't believe it has been a month! It seems like yesterday that you brought her home. I love the stretched out arms - sometimes I find Holden sleeping that way, too. That picture of Siena next to all of Lucca's dolls is too cute!
