Summer 2011

I figured that now would be a good time to update the blog since the holidays are here and I always order a hardcover book of the years worth of blogs in January. Before I can post our holiday pictures and memories, I need to catch up on summer and fall!

We had a wonderful summer, filled with fun trips and relaxing days at home. We also enjoyed lots of quality time with family and friends. Toward the end of summer Jenny, Ella, and Nicholas drove up for a visit. The kids had a blast together swimming in Grammie & Papa's pool, hanging out at the Splash Park at In Motion, and enjoying lots of play time. We went out to dinner at Tres Hombres and then to the Farmer's Market where Ella and Lucca got feathers in their hair! The girls had a sleepover at our house. Jenny and I went on a gorgeous run/walk around Paradise Lake. It was a great visit!

At the end of July the girls and I went to the state fair with Grammie. We spent the whole day there and both girls enjoyed the rides and exhibits. Lucca got to go on a long pony ride and once again Siena wanted to ride a pony until it came time to do so at which point she freaked out. Alas, no pony ride for Siena! Lucca got to milk a goat, which was a very interesting experience for her!

We got to spend an evening with our good friends, The Algers. They were in town for a short visit. It was fun to get the kids together and see them after such a long time.

We had lots of fun hanging out with the Howards. We had them over for dinner to thank Jon and Shawna for spending countless hours with me painting my classroom! Here's Logan and Lucca and Siena and Kaylie...

Taylor moved to Chico in August to attend Chico State. It will be fun to see him more often! We got to spend some time with Auntie Stacy as well!

The girls had a blast at their annual backyard camp out! We pitched the Princess Tent, fired up to BBQ to roast marshmallows for Smores and had a picnic on the lawn. Then we brought out the laptop and watched a movie before bedtime. Siena lasted until about 1 a.m. then she went inside to sleep.

The tooth fairy came to our house twice over the summer, once in June and once in July. Lucca gets so excited...check out her tooth fairy set up in the picture below! :) The first tooth earned her $5 and she got a charm for her charm bracelet for the second one.
Here are some miscellaneous pictures from summer...The first one is of Lucca getting her Back-to-School pedicure! :)
